Die Deutsche Schule Spartanburg began classes on September 7, 1996. The Carolinas are proud of their successful and growing business and cultural relationship with German speaking countries. Die Deutsche Schule Spartanburg hopes to further strengthen this bond.
In our increasingly global environment, knowledge of other languages and cultures is more important today than ever before. Die Deutsche Schule Spartanburg (DDSS) teaches students, from beginners to native speakers, the German language and the cultural heritage of German speaking countries
DDSS is a non-profit organization, governed by a Board of Directors who are volunteers. The Board of Directors appoints a Curriculum Coordinator who is responsible to ensure that the policies of the board and the academic goals of DDSS are achieved in the classroom. The business operations of the school are managed by the treasurer and registrar, both members of the board.
Teachers
The curriculum coordinator, in close cooperation with the board, is responsible for the academic program at Die Deutsche Schule Spartanburg. The faculty consists of experienced, certified teachers of German, who tend to be native German speakers.
